As a new doula, finding your path and direction is sometimes challenging. In growing as a doula, you will find plenty of opportunities to educate and speak on death literacy. Understanding that greater education is needed in the community to assist those who we seek to serve to make informed decisions about end-of-life planning. When we get the chance to talk about our responsibilities in serving as end-of-life doulas, we are decreasing the gap in death literacy. Yes, educating others on the taboo topic of death can be an overwhelming experience, but it takes determination and tenancy to stay the course until the conversation feels normal. And as doulas, we can fill the education gap; it's a part of our path and journey. So hold steady we will get there. ENJOY the read.
